Obituary for Julie M Hampe
Julie M. Hampe, 61, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at North Care Hospice House. Julie was born November 1, 1956 in St Louis, MO to Gustav Carl and Shirley (Meyer) Hampe. She married Garry Gustafson on October 15, 1988. Julie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George Hampe, Sr., of St Louis, MO, Steven Hampe , of Springfield, MO and David Hampe, of St Louis, MO. She is survived by her husband, Garry Gustafson of the home; sister, Carla Bandle and Sally Hampe of St Louise, MO; brothers, Dan Hampe (Leslie), of Boise, ID and Tom Hampe of St Louis, MO; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Julie supported many charities which include the Smithville American Legion Post 50 Auxiliary unit. But her love was for Camp Quality of Greater Kansas City a camp for kids with cancer. Julie supported Camp Quality for over 20 years starting with the fishing program sponsored by Central States Bass Association, then as a volunteer, and lastly as a companion with the campers. It was as a companion she really found what she was meant to do. A celebration of Julies life will be held at the Smithville American Legion Post 58, 2607 MO Hwy 92, Smithville, MO 64089, on Sunday May 27, 2018, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to bring and share their favorite memories and stories of Julie.
